Back Roads Animal Rescue 2017 Fence Project
UPDATE: 6/14/22 the goal was never met. Nowhere close. We have cut back on the amount of dogs we can take at any given time due to the inability to find reliable volunteers. And we are okay with that since the few of us who do all the work are tired. No one in rescue will likely ever be truly DONE, because what we do is just part of our soul, but for now we will just do what we can do.
The fencing is stored in a barn right now and the dream is still waiting. Someday the fence will be installed and an air conditioned building will also be built. It may not begin until my retirement, but it will happen someday if I live long enough!
~Angel
Goal: 24 rolls of 50' wire fencing 5' high.
# of rolls received so far: 5
Estimated cost of project: $1,200.
Donations received so far: $300
Foster homes are few and far between in our area of rural eastern Kentucky, so Back Roads Animal Rescue urgently needs to install fencing for our foster dogs to give them an active play area at our place. We have the space here, just need to fence it in so the dogs aren't roaming the neighborhood. Kenneling keeps them safe, but does not give them a good quality of life. Can you help us get this project off the ground so our dogs can play, burn off energy, and get in great mental and physical condition?
It's a former horse field with barbed wire fencing, so we already have the posts up. Just need to replace the barbed wire with 5' high wire mesh fencing for the dogs.
